Today I attended the 2011 Radio One Book Fair. In the last session I sat in we were introduced to Demetrius Martin. He is a 10 year old boy from Michigan who has recently had his first book published. The beautifully illustrated book discusses how Demetrius lost his father to violence last year.
During his talk at the book fair Demetrius shared that he hopes his experience will help other children who may be going through similar experiences. He told us that he even has plans for a second book. I did mention that Demetrius is 10? How inspiring.
