Eco Brushes

For as long as I have worn make up I have rarely used used a brush to apply my eyeshadow. Those things scare me. There are so many brushes with different angles and techniques. So I was really surprised when I saw an add for an Eco Tools brush set and I wanted it. I don't know if it was the bamboo looking handles or the cute carrying case. The add also stated that I could purchase the item from Target. Well that did it for me!!! I was not only going to buy a brush but I was going to learn how to use it.

Needless to say. I never made it to Target for my purchase. But about a week ago I was at Walgreens, looking for some eyeshadow applicators, and in front of me hung several Eco Tools brushes and brush sets. Wow!!! The time was now. Sure it took nearly 20 minutes for me to figure out which one I wanted to buy. Eventually I choose the Bamboo Eye Shading Brush and the individual brushes come in the cutest reusable containers so that I don't have to figure out where to put the brush when I am done. I also like the color of the case. Isn't that cute?????
Within the past week I have been learning to use my new brush and I notice the difference in how I apply makeup along my eye lid and brow. It is definitely different from using the applicator. So now I am sold on the Eco Brush and one day I will go to Target and purchase an entire set.

Forever Being Cute

Check the Time Y'all

Alright. I have been up early for no reason. When I first got up it was 4:17 and I just could not fall back asleep so I did my ritual of getting dressed and started breakfast. Of course not before reading my daily devotional. I have even washed a load of clothes.

But as I sit here with my cup of Sweet Dreams tea I must admit that it is peaceful right now. The birds are singing and the coolness of the house reminds me of being a little girl with no worries and cares of the world. Hmmmmmm!!!!!! I like that feeling. I need that feeling.

It's not even six in the morning and I have done more in the past 90 minutes than most people do all day....Make your day great.

Hey Ladies

Read the following information at the link listed below. Make sure you are taking care of yourself.

Up Early One Morning

One morning I was up preparing for my day and I happened on a preacher who was speaking a Word from the Lord. Below is a small excerpt of what he shared.

When you are where you are assigned to be you have no rivals. Everything created was a solution to a problem. Including people. When you ask God for a future God will schedule an enemy. Enemies are doors to your next season. Our job is to have faith and to believe that God will do what He said He would do.

SWAGGER WAGON

This video is too cute!!!!!!!!

Connected

I have this neighbor that I love to watch work

He seems so connected to the earth

Such passion and patience as the green continues to grow

It's captivating like watching someone in slow motion

The sounds and movements flow with the wind

Sitting here I watch, I hear, I listen

Ground perfectly manicured

Taken care of

As our Creator prefers

Distance away I am unnoticed from his visible eye

From where sit I unknowingly spy

On his moves, his techniques

Feeling of tranquility

I wish more water for the earth

So I can bear witness again to this man's work

Skin Care Prevention

In honor of Skin Cancer Awareness Month, be good to yourself! LA-based Lawrence Moy, MD, one of the most credentialed and in-demand Dermatologists, shares preventative tips.

1. Sun-active people should have yearly check-ups

2. Check your body monthly for dark spots

3. Check your body monthly for any new spots (have a friend or family member check those spots that are hard for you to see)

4. Look for spots that look irregular in color or shape (many of the bad spots are flat)

5. Look in areas that are not sun exposed as well as sun exposed areas

6. No tanning booths, absolutely not!

7. Use a dermatologist recommended sunscreen, such as Body Glove, and do not get burned and do not get tanned!

There are a few sunscreens that last long enough to be effective without the need to reapply. Dr. Moy recommends Body Glove Sunscreen. It has been tested for 8 hours.

Get Revelation - Pastor Jerry Savelle

This devotional was from Wednesday May 5, 2010

Verse(s): Ephesians 1:17

Devotional:
What kind of revelation are you walking in?
When God reveals to you something from His Word, it always causes you to become positive. You’ll have a positive attitude.

Quite simply, revelation knowledge of the Word of God determines how you react to the situations you are facing today.

Do you REALLY believe that…

…you are special to God?

…you are washed by the blood of Jesus from every sin, weakness and failure?

…you are holy, blameless and above reproach in His sight?

…you have authority over every circumstance in your life?

…God wants to turn every adversity into a victory?

…God wants to turn every stumbling block into a stepping stone?

…God wants to give you good things?

If you don’t have a revelation of something, then you can’t walk in it. Mental assent is not enough. It is always a lack of revelation knowledge that causes you to live way below your privileges in Christ.

However, once you have revelation of how special you are to God, then praise God, you will be able to walk in every good thing that He has for you.

Today’s Scripture Meditation

I pray the Father …may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him… Ephesians 1:17

Today’s Truth Confession

I ask You Father, that as I meditate on Your Word, that You make these truths real to ME.

Just Wanted To Watch T.V....

I wouldn't say that I don't watch t.v. often. What I will say is that it's not very often that I want to see a show on a regular basis. Over the years I have been glued to Soul Food, Girlfriends, and Pastor Jamal Harrison-Bryant. I could tell you when those shows were coming on, day of the week and time. I laugh at including Pastor Jamal because he's a pastor, kinda doesn't go along with Soul Food and Girlfriends. But I will tell you for the longest time every Sunday at 10p.m. on the Word Network there I would be yelling out "Preach Black Man"...lol

Here lately my show of choice has been Tiny and Toya, for so many reasons that could be a blog by itself. This past Tuesday I just wanted to see the show and from highlights you could see Toya going through some things and Tiny was trying get the shop together. I just wanted to watch because I believe their feelings and emotions are so real and they just reach through the t.v. screen at you.

Boy! Did I get more than a show this past week. In less than five minutes I got some spiritual food from Mrs. Lucy Hall. After Toya's mom left she went to visit Ms. Lucy, like I know her ;). The words given to Toya have played over and over in my mind. I even went to the site and viewed the video segment several times. What has stayed with me were Ms. Lucy's words about mutual relationships and how we have to pour into each other. "I gotta life just like you gotta life". We have to get to that point where we stop always being the giver or the taker and get some reciprocity. (I remember that from Lauryn Hill)

Ms. Lucy also spoke on Toya getting healthy herself. That is so key. Especially when you are in the position to give freely and people mistake your kindness for weakness and then you become drained and sick while everyone else is moving on. So while I have never met Ms. Lucy she gave some food for thought. When I am seeking out friendships I need some reciprocity, pour into me like I pour into you. Whether it's with words of encouragment, time, listening...whatever. Hey I love you to life but you know what I gotta life too! I am not going to be drained anymore.

Thank you to Ms. Lucy and to the show. I just wanted to watch t.v....I got so much more.

Check out the link below to learn more about Ms. Lucy Hall and the Mary Hall Freedom House. I have so many reasons to visit Atlanta now.

MARY HALL FREEDOM HOUSE

I was introduced to Mrs. Lucy Hall while watching The Tiny and Toya Show. In just a few minutes I was inspired and encouraged by her words. Here is a video I found on YouTube.

A Day In My Classroom

Today in my classroom I was speaking to a student, who will be the second person in family to graduate from high school. We were discussing what he would wear on graduation day. I told him that on that day if he could do without wearing anything red would be nice, and different for him. He told me how his friends were all excited for him and wanted him to dress up.

We talked for a while about his two years in the program and I told him how proud I was of him for sticking in there and getting all of his credits. His response, "That's a first. Nobody has ever told me they were proud of me." It took everything in me to hold back the tears that flow at this moment.

It's been said before but as an educator you never know who you are teaching or the impact you are making on that child's life. I will definitely be in attendance to watch him walk across that stage.

Prepare Myself For You (a prayer)

Dear Lord,

I’m having a hard time. Things aren’t going the way I would like them to. My heart aches and my self-esteem is low. Sometimes the pain is unbearable, unmanageable.

But I see my chocolate boys and realize that. I have to keep pressing. Many people see and don’t know how when he left it hurt so badly, so deep.

I saw my child falling and didn’t know how to pull him up. The best is all I want, to move from this and rise into a survivor and a worshipper.

My favorite day of the week is Saturday. That is when I prepare for You! On Sunday I don’t want anyone to know or see me falling apart. I want my mind and heart in the right place to teach Your Word, sing Your praises, and worship You unconditionally.

In your presence I want all to realize that throughout all the obstacles and pain. The most important thing for me to do is to Prepare Myself For You.
